Employment Opportunity: Part Time School Crossing Guard for Fairview Police Department

(APPROXIMATELY 12-25 HOURS PER WEEK)

$21.11 PER HOUR

DEFINITION:

The primary responsibility of a school crossing guard is to help children and pedestrians safely cross the street as they walk to and from school or at designated posts. School crossing guards are responsible for:

• Discouraging children & pedestrians from behaving unsafely near traffic
• Using existing gaps in traffic to help pedestrians cross streets safely
• Alerting motorists that pedestrians are in the process of crossing.

HOURS:

• When school is in session 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM and 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM or as required
• Summer hours will vary (as needed)

Substitute positions are also available.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions
• Must be able to stand & walk while on post
