With temperatures expected to climb over 90°, Bergen County has opened emergency cooling centers to help residents stay safe and cool. Fairview residents are welcome to use any of the county locations below. Please consider visiting a location closer to you when possible.

Beat the Heat
- Stay indoors in cool/air-conditioned whenever possible
- Avoid going outside from 11am - 3pm, when the sun is strongest
- Drink plenty of water - don't wait until you're thirsty
- Wear sunscreen, a hat & sunglasses if you must be outside
- Pets are welcome at cooling centers on a leash or in a carrier
Important Safety Reminders
- Never leave a child or pet in a parked car - even for a moment
- Lock all parked vehicles so children can't climb in while playing
- All ages are at risk for heat stroke - check on elderly neighbors & relatives
