Duties


Our fire inspector's regular duties consist of enforcement of the State of New Jersey Uniform Fire Code which includes:

  • Fire Investigations
  • Investigation of Complaints
  • Public Education
  • Regular Fire Inspections
  • Certificate of Occupancy Inspections
  • Smoke Detector/Carbon Monoxide Compliance
  • Complaints
  • Copies of Fire Reports 
  • Knox Lock Box Applications
  • Fire False Alarm Penalties

The Fairview Fire Prevention Bureau is a multifaceted department staffed by full-time and part time employees and is responsible for the enforcement of all state and local fire codes within the Borough of Fairview. Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 P.M. Inspectors are also on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
